They say losing your way sometimes can lead you to better things. Something similar happened to us on a Monday evening.
We got lost in the Golden Miles area trying to look for a restaurant . But after immense walking around and being tired post work we decided to just eat at one of the restaurants in the same building. Now for those of you don’t know , Golden Miles is a chain of Mall like buildings (Its not exactly a mall , its divided in buildings and is a residential area) in Palm Jumeirah.
We came across this cute cafe with modern European home themed interiors and decided to try this one out. Their interiors were very cozy and they also have a Junior Chef Zone for holding baking sessions for kids!
Coming to the food now. Our order was mainly from the Kids section of the menu. At first we weren’t sure if we would be allowed to order from there but to our surprise we could. So we Ordered
Mac n Cheese (AED 22)
This macaroni with cheddar cheese and melted cheese sauce was heavenly. Many places where mac and cheese is served its usually very creamy but this wasn’t the case here. Looking at it, I wasn’t sure but when I tasted it the cheese flavour oozed out and it was yum! I added a little pepper though.. cuz well , Indian taste buds.
The portion size was not bad at all , it was enough for 1 person with a smaller appetite (Yes, I am talking about me) or for 2 kids to share the same.
Next we ordered
Gratinated Chicken with Mushroom (AED 24)
Now my non vegetarian friends loved this one, they were 2 adults who shared this one portion and it was heavy for them. So I’d say the portion size was pretty good.
Taste wise they said it was a bit bland (Probably cuz its made to cater kids taste and not adults) They however added some salt and pepper to match their taste.
Along with this we also got the
Roasted Baby Potatoes tossed with sundried tomatoes & herbs (AED 12)
One can’t really go wrong with potatoes and this one came with little baby tomatoes. Loved this one and was a perfect side to our little foodventure.
Lastly we got the simple strawberry juice (I don’t know the exact name)
It was just alright. Not very sweet. If that kind is your thing, do go for it. We have had better!!
That was all that could be a part of our food venture that very evening.
We definitely would love to visit this place and again and try other things as well but the kids menu has a thumbs up from our side. It has been designed to cater the taste of kids who wouldn’t be able to take the spice and flavors we adults usually do .
