So I visited Mumbai on my super short trip to India last week and all I did was rush around to eat everything I miss when I’m not there. So I’ll introduce to you my usual basic eating ritual when I’m visiting Mumbai.
1. Visit the street side eateries right outside Indraprast Shopping Center.
They have many varieties there like Masala papad , Bombay sandwich , Frankie and the list goes on!
My top and only pick from here is the Frankie . The types there are and the number of stalls there are is crazy.
I like the one right outside the gate of the shopping center.
For those of y’all who don’t know Frankie is an Indian wrap which has different types of fillings – Veg and Non Veg ! For me I opted for the Veg Schezwan Cheese Frankie !
Check it out –
2. Visit the Natraj Market streetaries
Streetside+Eateries = Streetaries . So, this place is close to the Malad Railway Station is the local hub for people to do some street side shopping and eating. Now everytime I go to Mumbai , I make sure to visit here to satisfy my shopping and eating needs. So a few things you need to try from here (And they have been around for years now)
The Sev Puri – Gupta Ji’s
Now this has been recommended to me by uncles since they have been having from here since they were young.. so you can imagine how old this little stall is! Its just a street stall where this one man is making sev puri until the night folder in. And this place is almost always crowded.
And I am not kidding when I say this has been there for years , check out this major throwback from the year 2014 (when I wasn’t blogging) :
So yes, it was my favourite back then .. and it is till today .
This stall can be found near the bus station right outside Bawree Shop . (Dont worry , I got the location sorted for you)
Next comes the Sandwich ,
This is right besides the guy who sells this sev puri . If you see my throwback picture .. you can see. These 2 guys have also been around for years! And they have the best bombay sandwich!
These guys are the heroes –
To my surprise , even in the pictures on google maps you can see the sandwich uncles!!
And plus , once you get there …there is no way you would miss it as there is so much crowd there.
3. Visit MM’s
Now this place has started in 1951 , and since then has been serving people with amazing food! I used to go here when I was little and I crave it when I am not in Mumbai. Go here for the Vada Pavs !
Their range of sweets is amazing too .. the Kaju Katli’s are heaven!
The must have here is the Vada Pav followed by some soda.
So these are my top picks of the streetaries I visit when I visit Mumbai! (For a short period of time)
That’s all I have for you guys in this post !
See y’all soon in another one 😁
